Bellville Police Press Release – Subject struck by car

July 15, 2025

On July 11, 2025, at approximately 07:05 pm, Bellville Police Officers responded to a call for assistance from the Village of Butler, Ohio Police Department regarding a suspect with an outstanding warrant from the Adult Parole Authority.

Upon arrival, Bellville Officers found a subject that had been struck by a vehicle. One male subject was transported to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. Due to the parties involved, the Village of Butler is unable to do any type of investigation into this matter, as well as for any transparency reasons.

The Bellville Police Department has obtained all area camera footage and is currently investigating this matter. At this time no further information is available. Once the investigation is complete it will be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
