MANSFIELD, Ohio (August 17, 2025) – The Mansfield Division of Police is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday evening near 256 South Main Street.
Officers were dispatched to the area after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an individual near an alley who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital and later died from their injuries.
Detectives remain on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. Police reported that no suspect information is available at this time.
Authorities stated that the incident does not appear to be random and that there is no immediate danger to the public.
