Ontario Police Investigate Shooting After FedEx Driver Reports Suspicious Vehicle

ONTARIO, OH — Ontario Police are investigating a shooting after receiving a 911 call from a FedEx driver who reported a person slumped over in a vehicle with two bullet holes in the driver’s side window. The call prompted an immediate response from local authorities on Tuesday morning.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers were able to confirm the presence of the bullet holes after one officer used optics on his long rifle to inspect the vehicle from a safe distance. Police quickly approached the car to assess whether medical assistance was needed.

Springfield Township Fire Department responded and transported one individual to a nearby hospital. The person’s condition has not been released at this time.

After the discovery, investigators called in additional support to assist with the case. Detectives from the Mansfield Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) have joined the Ontario Police Department to help gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
