Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a Chevy Truck for a stop sign violation. The driver of the pick-up did not stop for the Sheriff’s Deputy either. The driver accelerated in an attempt to flee. The pursuit ended a few moments later when the driver left the road and struck a fence. Glad to report no injuries.
On Jan 13th, 2023, at about 9:30 pm a driver in a grey/silver Toyota Camry failed to stop for Ashland County Sheriff’s Department resulting in a high-speed chase on US 30. The driver of the Camry had no regard for anyone’s safety. During the pursuit, the driver was reported to be going the wrong way on US 30, reaching speeds of 100 mph. Ashland County Sherriff chased the suspect from Ashland County through Richland County, the vehicle finally came to a stop just 1 mile from Crawford County. Richland County Sherriff and The Ohio State Patrol were also involved. The driver was taken into custody. There were no injuries or property damage reported in scanner traffic. I find this amazing, considering the speed and recklessness of this driver, especially considering the weather.
