Subject: Homicide
The Mansfield Division of Police is investigating a homicide that occurred on
May 20, 2026. At approximately 10:38 PM, we received a call about a
shooting at 794 W. 3rd St., Mansfield.
When officers arrived, they located the victim, Le’ondra Messner, B/F/18,
inside the residence. It appeared that she had sustained gunshot wound(s).
She was transported to OhioHealth, where she succumbed to her injuries.
At this time, it appears the gunshots were fired from close range outside the
residence through a window near where the victim was located at the time of
the shooting. It is still very early in the investigation, and detectives are
continuing to piece together the details.
