Mansfield City Schools Notification 12/04/2026

Hello Tyger Families,

It’s Homecoming week in Tyger Nation, and there’s a lot of orange and brown to go around! Alumni are coming home, our student section is bringing the energy, and we’re celebrating everything that makes Mansfield special. Congratulations to this year’s Homecoming Court. You represent your classmates with pride, and we’re proud of you. I hope to see you all in the stands this weekend as we cheer on our Tygers.

Great game nights don’t happen by accident. They happen because of the people working the gates, the concession stands, and the sidelines. Mansfield Senior Athletics are looking for community members to help staff our athletic events this season. If you’d like to be part of the action and support our student-athletes, please contact our Athletic Director Terra Jackson at jackson.terra@mansfieldschools.org.

I’m also pleased to share that our building project continues to move forward. We’re working closely with our state partners on planning, and I’ll keep you updated as we reach each new step. Our students deserve safe, modern places to learn, and we’re committed to keeping you informed along the way.

Speaking of safety, here’s something I’m especially proud of. For the second year in a row, our buildings have had zero fire code violations. That result comes from careful work that most people never see, and it takes all of us. Every summer, our custodial staff and building teams inspect our schools from top to bottom so problems are fixed before students ever walk through the doors. Throughout the year, our administrators keep safety plans current and our teachers keep exits clear, practice drills with students, and speak up when something doesn’t look right.

A few reminders for families:

K-3 Parents, please watch for notifications about the diagnostic assessments results your students completed in reading and math during the month of September. These results help teachers understand where students are and how best to support their growth.

You can view your child’s attendance record, grades and more through ProgressBook anytime from your phone or computer. Please stay up to date on your child’s progress.

Parent-teacher conferences for grades PreK–6 will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15. These conversations are one of the best ways to partner with your child’s teacher, and I encourage every family to take part. To schedule your meeting please contact your child’s school.

Thank you for all you do to support our students and our schools. Have a wonderful Homecoming week, and go Tygers!

With Tyger Pride,

Stan Jefferson

Superintendent
